Notes
MilkAdMan lists this in its main campaign series.
Milk Mustache Mania (p. 66) says the Dixie Chicks wanted to be photographed milking a cow, and the cow the campaign brought turned out to have just given birth. Emily Robison, Natalie Maines and Martie Seidel fell for the newborn calf, and Natalie named her Loretta because she had no name yet. After posing with the mother, the trio changed into matching hip-hugger boots and took photos with Loretta; the book says she was quite a handful, especially for Natalie, who said she had never been a typical farm girl and that the cow was really heavy. The page also says the Dixie Chicks (and Loretta) were nominated for a 2001 Country Weekly Music Award in honor of their milk mustache debut.
