The Milk Mustache Book (1998, p. xv) lists this as one of the five ads that launched the campaign, in fifty-eight publications: Naomi Campbell, Christie Brinkley, Joan Rivers, Lauren Bacall and Isabella Rossellini.
The Milk Mustache Book (1998, p. 10) dates this shoot November 11, 1994, in Los Angeles, and uses the page to answer whether the mustache is really milk: the first five celebrities, hers included, wore mustaches of 100 percent milk, but it dried too quickly under the lights, so later shoots used milk mixed with other dairy products, including a little vanilla ice cream.
