Two newspaper photographs. In the first the Phillie Phanatic wears a shirt lettered “Phillies” and “MILK’S PHANTASTIC” and stands behind a sign reading “MILK”; the caption: “To kick-off MAMMA’s Phillie Phanatic school milk promotion the furry mascot was joined by (left to right) Jennifer Grimes, Pennsylvania State Dairy Princess; Wade Groff, MAMMA Director; Robert McSparran, MAMMA director; Phillie Phanatic; Joan Náchmani, coordinator of dietetic services SDP; and Mollie Williams, Disston Elementary School principal.” The second, almost black in the halftone, shows the Phanatic at Darley Road Elementary School: “The Phillie Phanatic, sponsored by the Middle Atlantic Milk Marketing Association (MAMMA), made a special appearance at Darley Road Elementary School.”

As read by the research pass, the article says the Phanatic was unveiled as MAMMA’s newest milk spokesperson at the Pennsylvania Farm Show on January 9, 1994, would visit 30 schools reaching 111,500 pupils, that prizes included a Phanatic and Darren Daulton growth poster, and that a Phanatic milk television commercial was to air in March 1994; no picture of the poster or the commercial was found. No milk mustache; no campaign line.
