…SAY MILK!
Even we were surprised by the overwhelming response when we asked everyday Americans to smile and… Last summer, when invited to join the ranks of models, movie stars and champion athletes sporting wholesome milk mustaches, thousands of entrants rose to the challenge. A panel of photographers for LIFE Magazine had the daunting task of judging, and the GRAND PRIZE WINNER of a Fuji Discovery 1,000 camera is Carol Henderson of Live Oaks, Florida who appears in the upper right-hand corner surrounded by all of her daughters and daughters-in-law. HONORABLE MENTIONS go to mid-air diver B.J. Lowrey of Little Rock, Arkansas, and to budding young cowboy Jake Bersche of Skiatook, Oklahoma. B.J. and Jake are among the more than 1,000 entrants who won Fuji cameras or film for their winning white grins.
Notes
Milk Ad Collecting Central preserves standard and oversized MWAS versions dated 1996; the Complete Milk Ad Checklist independently preserves the winner creative under 1995. A dated LIFE or period scan would show whether these are separate cycles, a reissue, or a dating error.
